The Guild Season 4 is only three weeks away!

We are huge fans of The Guild, and these Behind The Scenes videos are our little homage to Felicia and co. Season 4 starts on July 13th. Higlet relaxes, Codex-style (thanks, Micah!)

W00t!

Wow, after a not-inconsiderable time spent creating and promoting webseries and new media content I am VERY PROUD to announce that we have secured some funding for our new, original series! A person we have known for a while has stepped forward with some cold, hard cash so we can get the new project off the ground.

Money? Why do you need that?

Chickie-pie, in an ideal world we would live off the land and create an unending stream of wonderfulness just for you. Unfortunately that isn’t going to happen any time soon (the living off the land bit – the stream of wonderfulness is secure) so we need cash, dough, the green stuff, spondulicks, a wedge, moola, etc to pay bills and buy a new camera and stuff. And that.

We’re finessing the scripts at the moment. I won’t say too much about what this new webseries is about yet but it is an original comedy in the British tradition. A Britcom, if you like. Yeah, I know you want more….

Aggro – who needs it?

Probably no one. But if you needed someone to bring it, you need look no further than Bruiser, the testosterone-hyped tough guy of the Axis of Anarchy. Season 3 of The Guild introduced us to many new and wonderful characters but Bruiser was one of my favourites because is was so totally and completely OTT ALL THE TIME!  From the moment he danced his jig of inyourface and spat “DEAL WITH IT!!!” at Vork in the first episode of S3, J Teddy Garces had me mesmorized. He brought so much presence and physicality to the screen.

All aggro, all the time?

And it got us thinking. Would Bruiser be like that all the time? In a totally domestic setting would he still be only one step away from full-on Hulk mode? Lucky for us we don’t have to wonder any more. Higlet has brought us these stolen acquired home videos from Bruiser’s household….

J Teddy Garces has a YouTube channel, jteddygarces,  And the Knights of The Guild recently featured some pictures of Teddy. It doesn’t look like Teddy is on Twitter yet but hopefully he will be soon!

I have often said that one of the best ways to deal with Guild Deficiency Syndrome is to subscribe to The Knights of The Guild podcast. Kenny and Jenny bring us all the stories about the cast and crew of The Guild and have given us some brilliant Behind The Scenes shows.

The Guild is filmed in LA

..so you would have thought that they were safe from Higlet. But no. Somehow he found a way to fly down there and infiltrate the set. Did he meet Felicia Day or Wil Wheaton? How about Kim Evey? And has he got anything to say about Sean Becker? He’s not saying how it all went down, but returned last week with a paw full of dynamite footage. And speaking of feet…here’s Episode 1:

Behind the Scenes with Higlet

Work on a new webseries has  been going on ever since fluffy Higlet disappeared in mysterious circumstances. Despite asking Twitter for news, no one had seen the little rascal:

Days passed and not a word until a phone call last Thursday. A package was to be picked up. From Vancouver airport. Codeword: ******

Codeword: ******!!! I hadn’t heard that for nearly two years, when I was receiving smuggled extracts from Joss Whedon’s Journal. So then. Higlet is returned, and has brought with him some fascinating undercover footage from the set of a well-known webseries. I can’t say any more at this point, but I think you will thoroughly enjoy these videos.

Setting up an empire is hard work – no sooner have you done one thing then there’s twenty other things demanding your attention. And you know what? Sometimes girls just wanna have fun. When we released Goodnight Princess only 3 weeks ago, one of the comments that kept coming up was that people like the theme – were humming it all day. That wasn’t a surprise – I’ve not been able to stop singing it for weeks!

And so, while taking a rest from the day job and all the good stuff coming down the line in the next few weeks, hubby has rustled up a remix that will melt your heart.

CDBaby – everyone is doing it!

I love artist that go ahead and get things done. I’ve had the privilege of meeting people like Megan Lynch and Marian Call on Twitter and Friendfeed and their determination has been an inspiration. Being a music industry survivor, we were hesitant to jump back into it again, but CDBaby.com makes it relatively easy. In the next couple of weeks “Broken Lullaby” will be available there under our label, HigletSounds. It’s not live at the moment because it takes time for them to get things set up. So stayed tuned – when it’s all up and running we’ll let you know.

A whole Internet Play in under 10 minutes? Yes, you can. Goodnight Princess is an experiment in micro-shortform drama that explores love, loss and silly voices. The separate Acts have already been released  but now you can view them all together in one emotional sitting.
