Can't Stop The Serenity 2011

JUNE 25th, 2011 – Can’t Stop The Serenity (CSTS) at Macmillan Space Centre, Vancouver

For the sixth year running, Vancouver will be hosting a day of fun and fundraising for Equality Now and a local charity, BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre Foundation. Cities all over the world are participating in this event that has grown out of a desire to see Joss Whedon’s film Serenity on the big screen coupled with doing something worthwhile: raising money for good causes and having a shindig with like-minded fellows.

The origins of CSTS are uncovered in this interview with The One True b!X last year. Check out CantStopTheSerenity.com and find out where your nearest event is.

‘Mind My Brains, Darling’ World Premiere Screening!

We are thrilled to announce that during the Vancouver CSTS event there will be an exclusive, world premiere screening of our new comedy webseries ‘Mind My Brains, Darling!’ season 1, episodes 1 & 2. This means that people who attend will see episode 2 a few days earlier than everyone else – surely another reason to buy your ticket for Vancouver CSTS right now!! And don’t forget episode 1 is out on Tuesday, June 21st!

Silent Auction, Costume Competition, Evil Laughs, local webseries and more!

Vancouver was one of the original cities to host a CSTS event and over the years it has developed into a whole-day spectacular. This will be my fourth year celebrating with fellow Browncoats, and it is a day I look forward to all year. The Macmillan Space Centre is a great venue with ample room for the screenings and other activities and the atmosphere is wonderful. The Silent Auction has some amazing items again this year from Daleks to shuttles and from cupcakes to V. There will also be a screening of ‘Standard Action‘, a wonderfully geeky comedy-fantasy Vancouver-based webseries.

We took this video last year:

More Screenings and Announcements soon!

We will be bringing our Rom-Zom-Britcom to a few different places this summer so make sure you look out for more announcements soon. And if you are anywhere near Vancouver, BC then I hope we’ll see you next week!
